These are some photos I just found from my first attempt at food photography! I’m hoping to do some more of this soon and this time I have the lighting equipment to make it even better!
If you’re in Leeds I would definitely recommend The Hummingbird in Chapel Allerton where I took these. Their food is excellent!

I had great fun taking some photos for the Magpies Three theatre group the other day. These ladies are a lot of fun, so I’m sure there’ll be a few more photos from that shoot that might make it onto here!

I find myself doing more and more live music photography these days and as much as I love taking photos of pretty much EVERYTHING, I can’t say I’ve ever been particularly interested in that side of photography.
It’s a challenge working with the lighting conditions of a venue and the movements of a performing act, but I want more than that - I want FREEDOM! I want to find interesting locations, I want to pose subjects, I want to move around subjects, I want to use beautiful natural light, I want to use flashes and reflectors and umbrellas, I want to MAKE something not simply capture something that was happening whether I take the photo or not.
Meh. I guess what I’m trying to say is, get in touch if you want your photo taken. I try to balance taking photos with playing music and the latter has taken up almost ALL my time recently. I’ll take a photo of you, your band, your baby, your new haircut, your day trip, your idea, your friend’s sister’s baby’s christening, your ego…
…You get the idea.
I took a few shots for my talented friend, Ben Pike on Monday afternoon. I’ve done my best to make it look like beautiful, warm sun was streaming through the windows, but to be honest it was cold and overcast outside!

Fun in the snow!
Me and Vinnie played a gig in the tiny Cock & Bottle in York on Friday night. The snow was coming down pretty heavily throughout so we grabbed a few snaps outside before walking home.
